Frederick Tatham

Spear’s Review

Since joining in 2010 as a trainee, Frederick Tatham has swiftly moved up the ranks at Farrer & Co.

It’s largely thanks to his part in a string of landmark and high-profile family law cases, including Prest v Petrodel [2013] and more recently Williams v Williams [2024] and Goddard-Watts v Goddard-Watts [2019]. In the latter, one of Britain’s longest-running HNW divorce sagas, Tatham and his team succeeding in setting aside a financial order for the second time. ‘The judge described it as vanishingly rare and possibly unique,’ he tells Spear’s proudly.

A solicitor with a broad remit, Tatham has built a specialism in high-value and complex matrimonial finance disputes, often encompassing an international element.
