Thomas Reinshagen

Spear's Review

Previously senior director at Sotheby’s in Zurich, arranging sales of artworks and luxury goods for clients across Switzerland, Thomas Reinshagen is now an independent broker.

‘Clients would come to me with art, or for example wine or car collections, and I would arrange the authentication and auctions. It was a very broad brief that I had. What I did at Sotheby’s I now do privately with my own company,’ he told Spear’s.

Reinshagen has a network of authentication and valuation specialists that he works with, from generalists for lower value assets (he usually deals with lots worth between 50,000 and several million Swiss Francs) to specialists, sometimes working with academics for very rare paintings.

‘Because I am independent and international I can work with galleries, auction houses and private dealers. I make a proposal to the client and ensure that the valuation is correct and the client gets the best deal,’ he said.

Reinshagen has more than 30 years of experience in the Luxury and Art markets. His services are tailor made, professional with an international scope to clientele including banks, family offices and corporations. Confidentiality and trust reign supreme.
