For the past decade, Megan Bliss has been offering bespoke hunting and riding tours to small groups via Blackthorn & Brook, taking riders ‘hunting with the packs where there’s nice places to stay, beautiful scenery, good sport and most importantly interesting and welcoming people’. 

A former secretary of the Blackmore and Sparkford Vale Hunt in Dorset (her husband is its master), Bliss has first-hand knowledge of around a dozen hunts in the South West – she has also hunted in the US and Ireland. She arranges horses and accommodation for clients and takes them hunting with different packs, balancing equine and hunting support and advice with the introductions and logistical support required to ensure an enjoyable trip. 

‘It’s experiencing hunting as a local, really,’ says Bliss, who also arranges post-hunt dinner parties for guests.
