Pedro Dias Ferreira, managing director at Goldman Sachs, joined the bank in 2021 after spending more than a decade at Barclays as a senior private banker and head of Brazil – building a practice around Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking wealthy families.

Originally trained as a civil engineer in Lisbon, Dias Ferreira held roles at Deloitte, Credit Suisse and Capital Generation Partners before finding his niche. He holds an MBA from London Business School and completed a wealth management programme at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton business school that focused on Latin America – a region he describes as seeing ‘a lot of activity’ driven by political instability and clients’ desire to diversify and secure a legacy.

Outside the office, he has volunteered as a special constable for the Metropolitan Police – a commitment to what he calls ‘the greatest city on Earth’.
