Spear’s Review
Describing its teachers as ‘artisans of education’, Institut auf dem Rosenberg offers an education worthy of future leaders – equipping students with the tools to achieve both academic and personal success.
Designed to foster entrepreneurial minds and address some of the problems of mainstream attitudes and approaches to education, Rosenberg offers a unique approach to schooling. An individual development plan is written for every student, following the proprietary Rosenberg International Curriculum, and older students can incorporate preparation for a range of exams, including IGCSEs, A-Levels, AP and the IB.
Highly creative and ‘future-orientated’, the school is arguably unmatched in the variety of academic courses and co-curricular and athletic options it offers. In 2026, the school opened Rosenberg House during the World Economic Forum in Davos, with students hosting roundtables, workshops and salons with global decision-makers.
Academics
In 2025:
- 62 per cent of A-Level results were A* or A
- Average IB score was 38.0
Head teacher
Bernhard Gademann has headed the 137-year-old school since 2016 – the fourth generation of his family to have run the school. Gademann had a somewhat unconventional route into education, working in finance and technology before taking the helm of the Institut.
University and college destinations
In an average year, Institut auf dem Rosenberg boasts a 100 per cent success rate in students receiving offers from Russell Group Universities. Recent graduates have also accepted offers at Ivy League universities in the US.
Admissions
As part of the competitive admissions process, students must submit three years’ worth of report cards and a personal statement via an online application. Applicants chosen to progress to the next stage will be invited for an interview and to sit the Rosenberg entry exams.
