Riverstone Kensington is one of a growing group of residences in affluent areas of London – there is one in Fulham, another is planned for Bishop’s Avenue in Hampstead and a fourth site near the King’s Road will open in 2026 – that provides luxurious living for the over-65s without leaving their friends and communities behind.

Greeted by curving library shelves, an enticing restaurant and gardens designed by Chelsea Flower Show award-winner Andy Sturgeon, residents live in the atmosphere of a London club, but with support services by The Good Care Group or their own staff on hand. Clubs, classes and activities are offered by Riverstone but are never compulsory – ‘No enforced fun,’ said general manager Anthony Thwaites – and residents organise lively groups amongst themselves.
