EFG International

EFG INTERNATIONAL HAS a history of entrepreneurship dating back to when it was first established in 1995. As a start-up determined to bring a different perspective to the world of banking, EFG has grown and developed into a top 10 Swiss private banking group, with over 3,100 employees and operating in more than 40 locations worldwide. It is headquartered in Zurich and our shares are listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.

A key driver of this success is the fact that our private bankers, known as Client Relationship Officers, have always viewed themselves as entrepreneurs who are here to serve our clients. They are passionate about cultivating long-term relationships, founded on trust.

As part of EFG International, EFG Private Bank is based in Mayfair, London, with a branch in Jersey. Our services, catered towards the domestic and international HNW market, cover banking and credit, financial planning, investment management and offshore trusts. EFG’s specialism is generally looking after HNW clients with a diverse set of banking, investment and lending needs and possessing assets of £2million and above.

As a pure play Private Bank, longstanding, excellent client relationships are at the very heart of the service we provide. Our Client Relationship Officers (CROs) are here to support our clients in all wealth-related matters through every stage of life – in a professional, personal and family context. This is one of the hallmarks of EFG and our approach to private banking.

Our CROs are empowered to design and shape tailored financial solutions appropriate to their client needs. This is made easier by our ‘flat’ team structure, and clients always have direct access to a senior decision maker. Most of our CROs have been here for 10 years or more, and that continuity with clients helps develop a unique understanding, with open and direct communication between CRO and client.

As part of the group, EFG Asset Management forms the central ‘brain’ of our Investment Solutions proposition – their expert research and market insights help drive the investment strategy across the whole business. This means in the UK, EFG Private Bank, gets the benefit of instant, seamless access to this investment advice.

EFG Asset Management Limited (EFGAM) is an international provider of actively managed and high conviction investment products to financial intermediaries and institutional investors worldwide. EFGAM was also established in 1995 as a division of EFG Private Bank in London, to deliver investment solutions to clients, primarily coordinated through their CRO.

EFGAM’s clients also include HNWs and family offices, but also extend to major corporate and institutional investors.

In 2010, EFGAM became an independent entity from the UK private Bank, while still enjoying the benefits of being part of a major international private banking group, with a full range of investment offerings, including traditional equity, fixed income, multi-asset and alternatives strategies.

Their experienced investment professionals are based in various locations including London, Zurich, Geneva, Lugano, Hong Kong, Singapore and Miami.

New Capital is EFGAM’s fund arm. Its focus is on active management with funds that seek to beat their benchmarks on equities and fixed income as well as thematic strategies that reflect EFGAM’s macro views. New funds are added when compelling investment opportunities arise in the market.

EFGAM’s investment decisions are based on sound analysis of the opportunities available, not on whether a security is included in a benchmark index. It does not have an investment style bias, but rather a macro framework that sets guidelines for managers and helps them identify opportunities, while leaving them the flexibility to add alpha.

In addition, risk management and ESG are important pillars to its investment process, within the confines of being an active manager.
