‘Estate disputes can be a very trying and emotional time for people who have often lost someone close to them and are then immediately faced with a dispute,’ says Paula Myers, director of legal services for private client services with Irwin Mitchell.

The experienced partner deals with all types of challenges of wills, including issues relating to mental capacity, undue influence and irregularities, as well as claims for financial provision for spouses, cohabitees and children. ‘I have particular experience handling farming dispute claims involving the doctrine of proprietary estoppel,’ she says.

Paula is Director of Legal Services for Private Client Services leading a team of over 180 people looking after clients’ tax and estate planning and dealing with disputes regarding Wills and Trusts. A large part of her role is ensuring that every client receives the best care making sure that all their needs are met. Throughout her career Paula has been passionate about helping people through their disputes and she continues to handle complicated trust and probate claims, generally in excess of £1m, involving substantive issues of law and complex family arrangements acting for HNW individuals.

Paula was ranked in the latest Legal 500 Hall of Fame and is regarded as a "market leader". Her team won the 2021 STEP award for the Private client team of the year and she was also announced as one of the prestigious recipients of the 2021 STEP Founder’s Awards.
