Spear’s Review

Inhabiting four adjoining houses on Harley St, Queen’s College London was the first school in the country to be able to grant qualifications to girls, allowing them to go on to university.

In recent years the reforming efforts of former principal Frances Ramsay (now head of Godolphin and Latymer) and current principal Richard Tillett have raised academic standards so it can compete with other London day schools.

Alumnae include Anna Wintour of Vogue, Bloomsbury Group author Katherine Mansfield and Gertrude Bell, archaeologist spy.

Head teacher

Richard Tillett has been principal of Queen’s College London since 2017. Prior to that, he worked at Harrogate Ladies’ College, The Leys School and King Edward VI Grammar School.
