Matthew Ewens was initially called to the Bar in 2006 and cross-qualified as a solicitor in January 2012. Now a legal director in the white-collar crime and investigations group within the litigation department at Mishcon de Reya, he specialises in all aspects of serious fraud, complex crime and other associated civil causes of action.

Matthew has extensive experience advising both individuals and corporates in relation to allegations of bribery, corruption, fraud and money laundering, often involving multiple jurisdictions. Matthew was recently successful in defending an individual against serious corruption allegations and securing an acquittal following a trial brought by the SFO. With experience of representing clients who face allegations of bribery in civil proceedings, Matthew regularly advises on managing parallel criminal and civil aspects. Matthew believes in 'creating solid relationships with clients to identify what matters most to them'.
