Josh Baron’s work with family businesses began on the philanthropic side. After a stint at Bain & Company he worked for The Bridgespan Group, an organisation helping companies to increase their social impact. He then moved to the family business consultancy where he met Rob Lachenaur, who would later become his co-founder at BanyanGlobal.

Banyan is an advisory service for the owners of the world’s leading family enterprises. It seeks to make them ‘more effective owners’ as they make difficult decisions during transitions. ‘I really believe in the power, the benefits, the impact that comes with family businesses,’ says Baron. ‘When they go right, it’s a much more sustainable form of capitalism.’
