For Boodle Hatfield partner Reem Al-Jumaily, client satisfaction is paramount to her work. ‘It’s about the handholding and personalised service. That’s crucial for us,’ she tells Spear’s. 

After joining the legal firm in 2016 as an associate, Al-Jumaily quickly climbed up the rankings, becoming partner in 2019. Tasked with building Boodle Hatfield’s international client base, her fluency in Arabic has proven invaluable. ‘I was born and bred in the UK and then summoned to Arabic school by my parents,’ she says. ‘My fluency in Arabic has been brilliant for my career.’ 

While her clients are largely from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE, she also deals with clients from countries such as France, India and Taiwan. ‘What’s important with international clients is that you’re able to explain complex legal terms in simple day-to-day English.’
