Head of the Dubai office at Quilter Cheviot, Mark Leale finds time to chat with Spear’s before stepping out into the city’s 40-plus degree heat for a game of golf.

He says his firm focuses on providing a strong discretionary portfolio management service for clients, working with successful expats, international HNWs and wealthy Emirati families. With more than two decades of experience in the financial world, he relishes the client-centric aspects of his role, particularly nurturing relationships with clients — ones he ‘hopes will endure for generations’. 

Leale was an early expat to Dubai, moving there over two decades ago. ‘It’s evolving very fast, not just in terms of population growth but also regulation.’ Leale adds that much is being done in the UAE to attract and retain businesses and talent.

Previously, Leale worked for Lloyds Private Banking on Guernsey and the Isle of Man. Before moving to Quilter, he served as the regional manager for Nedbank Private Wealth.
