'I'd like to think we offer the best experiences,' says Amanda Teale, founder of Minerva Private Travel. Established in 1999 from the corner of her living room, the firm describes itself as both a private travel agency and lifestyle manager. 'We're not just travel consultants and it's not just about the holiday. We're taking care of every aspect.' 

This involves private jet transfers, chauffeur drivers and most importantly, round-the-clock communication. 'I'm on the phone with clients even on Christmas Day,' Teale tells Spear's. 

Minerva Private Travel can arrange explorations and excursions to anywhere in the world - even Antarctica isn't too tricky a feat. Its offerings are proving popular with US-based clients, all of whom stuck by the firm when it introduced fees during the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020. 

'Covid struck the industry hard and when it came down to it, a travel company cannot run on commission alone so we decided to charge fees. We were met with zero resistance,' she enthuses. 'Some clients have been with us for over 25 years.'
