Thomas Croft

Spear’s Review

Described as ‘the art collector’s architect’, Thomas Croft has designed homes for art dealers, collectors and celebrities.

Croft worked for Richard Meier in New York and Rick Mather in London before setting up his own firm in 1995. His work often involves tinkering with old buildings or creating new ones that blend with their historical setting – he completed a third project for Swedish art dealer Per Skarstedt in 2016 and a project for the Howard de Walden estate in 2019.

Although Croft is ‘extremely pessimistic’ about the future, he also believes there are opportunities, and that ‘fortune favours the brave’.
