If you Google the name ‘Rocky Patel’, a suggested question is: ‘Is Rocky Patel a real person?’ The answer is very much yes: originally a Hollywood lawyer, he found his love of cigars smoking with actors between takes on set, and in 1995 he sold his law firm to start a cigar brand.

Initially named under licence for Indian Motorcycles, it took its owner’s name in 2006 and has grown to represent his love of luxury. As well as the wide range of cigars, he also opened a cigar lounge called Burn in Naples, Florida, and has since spread his footprint to Pittsburgh, Oklahoma City, Atlanta and Indianapolis.

Fine cigars that can be surprisingly inexpensive, the Patel line formerly included one of the world’s largest sticks, the Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend Gorilla, a 6 x 58 monster that was a critical hit.
