‘From a bunch of tulips snatched from a neighbour’s garden for my mum after school, to the grandiose rose- and lily-laden projects [created] for my first love, I’ve always been infatuated,’ says Neill Strain. After studying floristry, he founded his first boutique, Neill Strain Floral Couture, in Belgravia; he remains involved with the daily running of the business and regularly travels to Holland to pick out flowers and discover new varieties himself.

‘I don’t have a favourite flower,’ he says. ‘It would be impossible to single out one from such a sensuous and beautiful collection.’ Strain’s approach is holistic; his style is consistently bold, and the bloom-laden shopfront an Instagram hotspot in its own right.
