Lois Rogers

Spear’s Review

Lois Rogers left her in-house role in the corporate and asset finance division of a bank to venture into family law, which she says was ‘without doubt the most pivotal and potentially risky’ moment of her career. Her practice at Vardags now covers the full spectrum of family law issues, from divorce to cohabitation, financial dispute resolution and children matters.

Rogers has been involved in some important recent cases in divorce, children matters and matrimonial finance. She was an integral part of the team on the preliminary issue hearing of Quan v Bray, which required extensive international asset-tracing and disclosure exercise in relation to complex offshore structures, and provided her expertise in the corporate and disclosure aspects of Chai v Peng.

Adviser Profile

Highly regarded by clients for her empathetic and insightful approach, Lois focuses on complex financial cases, often with an international element. Her previous career in City-law and as in-house Counsel at a leading financial institution makes her particularly experienced in the corporate and financial aspects of cases, including complex remuneration structures. She is also highly experienced in leading on cases where financial claims are made on behalf of children in Schedule 1 proceedings, having last year led on the reported case of CA v DR (Schedule 1 Children Act 1989: Pension Claim) [2021] EWFC 2). This year she led on her second reported case in as many years: SC v TC [2022] EWFC 67.
