Julia Onslow-Cole was previously head of global immigration at PwC before joining Fragomen in 2018. She continues to lead discussions surrounding this increasingly politicised area of the law. 

She works between London and Dubai to assist with mobility between the two, working closely with the UAE government. Recent appointments have been to the SHRM Immigration Speciality Panel, the board of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Dubai International Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Onslow-Cole has worked with many HNWs who have considered attaining citizenship in EU countries since Brexit and has noted to Spear’s that many UK-based entrepreneurs remain concerned about access to talent.

‘Immigration is high on the agenda for governments in most countries,’ she explains. ‘However, businesses need more flexibility in moving people around. It’s a perfect storm – a highly publicised topic, which goes to the core of global thinking’.

Julia is a Partner at Fragomen, advising high-net-worth individuals and businesses on complex international migration. Julia advises governments on major projects encompassing visa processing systems, residency legislation and citizenship by investment programmes.

She liaised with the UK Government on Brexit and has given expert evidence at the European Parliament. She sits on the Dubai International Chamber’s Board of Directors, an appointment approved by Dubai ruler, HH Sheikh Mohammed. 

She advised the Home Office on business, investment and growth and is a stakeholder representing the London Chamber of Commerce where she is Chair. She is Best Lawyers ‘Lawyer of the Year’ for London immigration law.
