Spear’s Review

Longview Advisors founder Gulnara Long has developed a ‘modern advisory service’ to help international HNWs make sense of the UK property landscape.

Receptive to the diversity of client needs, Long’s broad outlook allows her to deliver property solutions that dovetail with ‘family ambitions and financial goals’ – whether they be related to property management or UK investments.

Over more than 15 years, Long has worked with family offices and UHNWs to develop sustainable strategies to enhance their property portfolios. She previously was a managing partner of Property Vision, a real-estate advisory that had been part of HSBC Global Private Banking

Adviser Profile

‘Clients, not properties, are at the heart of our business,’ says Gulnara Long, founder of Longview Advisors.

Time-pressed clients, with multiple business and financial interests as well as family requirements, value having a dedicated specialist acting on their behalf.

‘Not only does working with a property advisor save time and money; having someone representing their interests gives them a sense of control,’ says Long.

With an MBA from London Business School, Long was a management consultant, then moved into UK property. For the past 18 years she has advised international private clients and their families on property strategy. In 2020 Long established Longview Advisors, which specialises in the acquisition of homes and investment properties, advice and negotiation, and property portfolio management.

Longview helps clients put property in perspective by:

  1. Discovering their real requirements to provide the appropriate advice
  2. Thinking like an investor to balance risk and return
  3. Crafting strategic plans to deliver results in line with their financial goals and family ambitions
  4. Teaming with other professional advisors in property, law and finance to negotiate and complete transactions

Research by leading banks reveals that family offices worldwide consistently put an average of 10 percent of their investment in real estate assets.

‘Private offices rely on a range of specialist expertise,’ adds Long, ‘some of which they don’t have in house.’ Longview receives referrals from private banks and other advisers, and always works closely with their teams to keep strategy and execution in sync. As one private banker noted on a recent project, Longview ‘asks the right questions and listens to understand what clients are really looking for’.
