Spear’s Review

Set on New York’s Upper West Side, Trinity School has a long-established history stretching back to the 1700s.

Its definition of a world-class education encapsulates ‘rigorous academics’ twinned with ‘outstanding programs’ in athletics and the arts, as well as a strong focus on the importance of giving back to the wider community. ‘We intend to prepare them to learn confidently for the rest of their lives and to give generously and joyfully to others,’ the school says.

Head teacher

John Allman has been Trinity head of school for nearly 15 years, with previous roles as headmaster at St John’s School in Texas and principal at the Lovett School in Georgia. Allman is set to step down as head of school at the conclusion of the 2023-2024 academic year, to be replaced by Alexis Mulvihill, currently assistant head of school.
