Gillian Fleming’s business objectives are centred around the idea that ‘inclusivity is central to innovation’. Consequently, she is passionate about improving the advisory resources and monetary funding available to burgeoning female entrepreneurs and women-owned startups. 

She formally launched Mint Ventures in 2021 and describes it as a ‘women-led business angel investment group’. The non-profit organisation invests in three types of companies: women-owned startups; businesses that meet the needs/interests of women; and companies that have a strong stance on diverse leadership. 

After a recent partnership with the British Business Bank, Fleming told the press that Mint Ventures’ mission statement is two-fold: ‘to support women-led, diverse companies to unlock the capital they need to grow’ and ‘to debunk the myth that you have to be rich to be an angel investor’.
