Scott Whalan is a Dubai-based partner for Deloitte's valuations arm in the Middle East. He focuses on advising institutional clients on M&A, disputes, restructurings and financial reporting. He has a particular specialism in advising private family enterprises, and is leading the Big Four firm's department for elite families in the region, which he says aims to 'help achieve the growth and strategic objectives across their family, their businesses and their private wealth'.

Whalan is a chartered financial analyst with a first class honours degree in mathematics and finance from the University of Wollongong. He started his roles as manager at Deloitte's Sydney branch in 2003 before moving to its UAE branch in 2009 where he was made partner. He took on his current role in 2021.
