Jasim Ahmed is a cigar influencer and mentor based in Dubai, UAE, but increasingly catering for an international audience of cigar enthusiasts.

As a certified Master of Habanos he is qualified to induct people into the world of fine cigars, and works with La Casa Del Habanos in Dubai helping aficionados select the perfect smoke. Through his 144,000 follower Instagram account, however, he is finding a larger audience in many different countries as an independent, leading the way not just in the cigars themselves but a way of life around them.

‘It’s not only about cigars, it’s more about cigar culture,’ he told Spear’s. ‘It started just in the UAE, but with social media, Instagram, I can contact people everywhere for training. There are a lot of misconceptions about cigars. I can provide cigar courses online, perhaps for a group of friends, up to 10 of them.’
