Andrew Dunn and Alex Michelin, the founders of Finchatton, started as developers, acquiring real estate and working with designers to refit properties and sell at a profit. 

‘To this day, that is still our core business,’ Dunn tells Spear’s. Yet clients increasingly began approaching them with purely interior design projects. ‘Clients we’d sold real estate to came to us and said, “I’ve got this chalet in Gstaad, or this villa in St Tropez, or this flat in London I’m giving to my children, or a country house – would you like to do that?” They wanted us to apply the same sort of approach to the project.’ 

Using their in-house design team and guest architects appropriate to the region they now continue to work on individual homes but lead the field on high-profile branded residences, including 20 Grosvenor Square and The Whiteley.
