With 25 years’ experience of complex fraud causes around the world, EY’s Richard Abbey understands that ‘speed of trust is critical’, outlining the first rule of his forensic services practice.

‘Often I will meet clients for the first time just as a crisis is kicking in. Having originally qualified into EY’s fraud and risk management team before co-founding its investigations practice, Abbey was then recruited to the London offices of corporate investigators Kroll, where he headed a specialist financial investigations team. He rejoined EY in 2015, to head its global investigations practice.
