Paul Avon has more than 25 years of experience in the recruitment business. In 2015 he started his own company, True House Partners, which is 'agnostic in discipline' and specialises in recruiting across a number of fields including wealth management, tax, investment, wealth structuring, and for family offices and private offices. 

True House Partners has an international reach and covers not only the mainland of the UK and Europe, but also jurisdictions such as the Middle East, the Channel Islands and the Far East.

He told Spear's that recruiting for family offices can be difficult when candidates don't go into the process with an understanding of what to expect. 'The ideal person to work for a family office has no ego,' he said. 'You’ve got to understand that you’re working for the client and you’re there to ultimately deliver a service [that benefits them].

Regardless his company has found great success because ‘we are authentic and, once instructed, we work tirelessly to capture the best person in the market – as opposed to the best person on the market who happens to be actively looking’.
