As the longstanding head of RPC’s media team, Keith Mathieson defends clients involved in libel, privacy and similar reputation claims. He is regularly instructed by newspapers and broadcasters, including Associated Newspapers Limited (the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, and Mail Online), News UK (the Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times) and the Mirror Group.

Mathieson acted for Associated Newspapers throughout the Leveson Inquiry (a judicial inquiry into the culture of the British press following a major phone hacking scandal) and also represented Mirror Group in the long-running phone hacking litigation. This included handling contentious costs matters.

He is the principal author and editor of The Privacy Law Handbook and has contributed to The Freedom of Information Handbook.
