Katherine Res Pritchard

Spear's Review

Katherine Res Pritchard, formerly of Dawson Cornwell, is now director and head of the children department at Vardags.

She specialises in children law, both domestic and international, as well as child abduction, removal from the jurisdiction and internal and external relocation. Her work is described as ‘urgent’ and ‘emotive’, and she is recognised for often providing support to parents that goes beyond her legal remit.

A family lawyer who has worked exclusively on children work for nine years, Res Pritchard has a reputation for ‘winning cases deemed unwinnable by other lawyers’, according to her firm. She has had numerous successful reported cases and notably advised the Times columnist Sophie Beresiner on her surrogacy journey, about which Beresiner later wrote a book, The Mother Project.

Adviser Profile

Res Pritchard places a great deal of emphasis on the importance of client care, ensuring that her clients feel completely supported throughout the whole legal process. Having specialised in children work for the last decade, she achieves the best possible outcome for her clients and their children, providing clear, direct and focused advice from the outset.

Res Pritchard, now senior director, created, and has now grown, the Vardags' Children Team over the last few years into what is now one of the best in the country, with it continuing to go from strength to strength. She routinely achieves tremendous success for her clients, and this year has had several reported judgments in international cases.
