A partner at BDB Pitmans, Judith Millar is a diverse tax practitioner who advises a range of clients with 'substantial UK and non-UK trust interests', as well as HNWs who require a tax lawyer's opinion on domicile and residence issues. 

The Cambridge graduate, who is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, tells Spear's of the need to be mindful of the potential for conflicts of interest when advising beneficiaries and trustees. 'You're taking on the role of a trusted adviser, but it's a pretty delicate one as well,' Millar says. 

With more than two decades experience as a private client adviser, Millar is  adept at advising on offshore elements, cross-border planning and contentious tax matters, which often involve fragile family relationships.

She also acts for non-UK domiciled individuals who may be UK resident, or else thinking of coming to or leaving the UK, requiring advice on domicile and residence issues. She is experienced in cross-border succession planning as well as co-ordinating international estates requiring probate in different jurisdictions.
