Spear’s Review

Camilla Wallace, senior partner and head of Wedlake Bell’s private client group, values clarity of communication above all when dealing with clients.

‘I translate complex areas of the law into plain English and assist my clients with navigating their way through life-changing events – certainly in tax terms – from death, divorce, relocation and succession to the sale of family businesses,’ she says.

Wallace advises HNWs on estate planning as a tool to mitigate inheritance tax and pass on estates using lifetime gifts, trusts and tax-efficient wills. She also works on capital gains tax and income tax mitigation strategies in regard to lifetime tax planning.

She has extensive experience of both offshore and onshore trust structuring, and advising trustees and beneficiaries in relation to the day-to-day management and administration of trusts and estates.

Adviser Profile

Millie’s expertise ranges widely from onshore to offshore, from landed to entrepreneurial, from tax to trusts, from start-up to succession. She covers the expected gamut of law advising high-net-worth individuals, trustees and families all over the world, on complex trust law, estate planning and tax-efficient strategies.

Millie is a trustee herself, which can help smooth succession as she often provides an inter-generational link and continuity of service.

Millie leads the Wedlake Bell Private Client Group encompassing the private client, residential property and family teams. She became a partner at a mere six years PQE whilst heavily pregnant and is a stellar role model for young female solicitors. In 2017 she was invited to join the Senior Equity and in 2018 was promoted to the Board.

Millie continues to balance her senior role at the firm and the varied and complex needs of her clients with having a young family.
