‘You will have a Roger Federer forehand and a Serena Williams serve in no time,’ says Nick Poulton’s of his one-to-one tennis and paddle-sports coaching service, Boof Tennis.

Offering his coaching services in Pimlico, Belgravia and Knightsbridge, as well as for clients ‘all over Surrey’, Poulton developed his stripes as a teacher through giving private lessons at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire as well as at a leisure centre in Chelsea. 

He is equally comfortable nurturing the racquet skills adults who have never played a game in their lives as he is coaching budding younger talents. For children, he often organises group sessions with up to four players and he seeks to develop their hand-eye coordination as well as ensuring they have ‘lots of fun’. 

Poulton, or ‘Coach Boof’ as his students call him, first developed a love of tennis as a child and as a teenager he played played at both county and country level. An ex-professional player, he is sponsored by HEAD Tennis and is affiliated with the Lawn Tennis Association.
