Matthew Sudlow

Spear’s Review

At Strutt & Parker, Matthew Sudlow is head of the estates and farm agency department. He joined the firm in 2007 as a chartered surveyor before becoming an associate in 2011. His current responsibility involves leading a team of brokers, all of whom specialise in high-value property across England and Wales. His own practice focuses on farms, country, and sporting estates in the south and south-east of England.

Sudlow tells Spear's that his team has been climbing to new heights over recent years with 2023 culminating on a high note. 'It was a record year with £500 million of sales.' His prediction for 2024 is equally optimistic. While markets grapple with uncertainty, land is a safe investment. 'On the farmland investments side, we've seen a return of institutional investors coming back into the market,' he says. 'I think we're going to see that investment increase.'

He is also a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers (FAAV).
