James Gow

James Gow has headed up Strutt & Parker’s Kensington office since 2018.

While overseeing the branch’s operations, Gow relishes his work for HNW families, an array of family offices and other organisations, scouting out the best properties across the area. ‘That is actually the main part of my working day – I’m very much at the coalface,’ he says.

Post-pandemic, his clients are increasingly searching for ‘lateral space’ – larger homes, of which a greater number can currently be found in Kensington and Holland Park than in Chelsea. Gow reminds clients ‘to have a simple brief, to communicate it clearly to their agent, and to be prepared to be decisive when the right thing comes up’. 

He previously worked at as an associate director Lane Fox until 2007, prior to its merger with Strutt & Parker.
