Watch Guru Tom Bolt’s company is split up into three sections. There’s the Bargain Basement where ‘tight arses’ will find watches at 75 per cent or more off their retail price. There’s the Watch Fiend, where he sells watches for under £15,000, for those in the ‘honeymoon phase’ of collecting.

Last is the Watch Guru, where watches are priced anywhere from £15,000 to ‘a potential divorce’, he jokes, ‘for those in the grips of the horrendously progressive disease of watch collecting.’ 

Bolt himself succumbed over 25 years ago and has since become recognised as a true guru of the watch world, writing about them, speaking about them on television and even designing for Richemont.
