Tim Maxwell is former co-head of the art group at Charles Russell Speechlys, who joined Wedlake Bell as partner in 2023. He specialises in contentious matters including fakes, dealer disputes and authenticity. He separately provides strategic advice on transactional issues and is noted for his diplomacy in resolving complex international situations.

Maxwell has long been fascinated by the art world, and began his career working on cases involving misattribution of Old Master paintings and provenance disputes. His practice has since grown to encompass all aspects of the art world, and he has a growing reputation in protecting artists’ rights and street art.
