‘We are physically remote from the superyacht world, but the world of communication makes us feel part of the industry,’ Steven Quayle says. He joined the Isle of Man firm Cains in 2002 and, while sitting in the corporate department, he specialises in business and commercial aviation matters, ship and superyacht finance.

 Quayle notes the superyacht business is unusual because of the passion of the professionals involved. ‘Sometimes this can increase tension’, he says, but it also brings a human element to proceedings. ‘It is a nice change from legal practice generally when the owner takes time to thank the professionals for having closed a challenging transaction,’ he adds.
