Jean-Claude Erné had an unusual start to his career after he graduated as a law student in 1988. He was considering journalism in order to travel and better understand the world, but a meeting with Charles Pictet changed everything. The eponymous founder of Pictet Wealth Management persuaded Erné that he could accomplish all his goals through banking. 

Today, Erné is Pictet’s head of wealth management for French-speaking Switzerland. Apart from a brief detour into a Swiss law firm he has been at Pictet for his entire career, previously serving as managing director of Pictet & Cie in Singapore, and CEO of Pictet Wealth Management in Asia, before moving back to Switzerland in August 2011 to take up the post of CEO of family office services.
