An expert on complex facial procedures, The London Clinic’s Hugo Henderson tells Spear’s he’s among the few pioneers to marry plastic surgery techniques with specialist eye management procedures in the medical world. Henderson completed specialist training in ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital and has completed fellowships in the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He is currently based at The London Clinic in Harley Street. He is also a consultant specialising in oculoplastic service and direct referral cataract service at The Royal Free Hospital.

Mr Henderson’s particular area of expertise is in cosmetic eyelid surgery and brow lifts to enhance patients’ vision as well as their appearance. His specialties include fat grafting, post-cancer reconstruction surgery, cosmetic facial surgery, and lacrimal surgery including endoscopic and external dacryocystorhinostomy. Hugo’s personal approach to patients is unrivalled and he delivers the best possible aesthetic outcome for his patients that is bespoke without compromising the eyes in any way. This means that he is often referred complex blepharoplasty cases including revision.

Mr Henderson completed specialist training in ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital and has completed fellowships in Oculoplastic Surgery at Moorfields and at the multi-disciplinary Craniofacial Unit in the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In addition to his private practice at The London Clinic in Harley Street, he is a consultant at the NHS Royal Free Hospital managing complex facial surgery, is a member of the multi-disciplinary Sub-cranial Facial surgery team and runs the multi-disciplinary Thyroid Eye Disease clinic. 

Hugo is actively involved in mentoring of medical students and trains a full-time clinical fellow in Oculoplastic and Cataract surgery. He also lectures on the plastic and reconstructive surgical MA course at University College London. He has published research and is a recognised speaker at the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society.

He is well known and respected by his peers and has been honoured to host the prestigious annual meeting of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society 2017 in London. He is the honorary treasurer and past secretary of the Ophthalmology section of the Royal Society of Medicine.
