Former Credit Suisse director Christian Armbruester founded Blu Family Office in 2010 to manage the wealth of his own family after growing frustrated with ‘uncoordinated’ private banks. The firm – which has since opened its offering to external clients – entered the crypto world in 2016 when a client invested in Bitcoin. Armbruester has since become a trusted adviser on the topic.

‘Cryptos are like marmite, and we’re not pushing them on anyone,’ he tells Spear’s. Instead, the firm has integrated the asset class into its service offering and advises clients on the best way to gain exposure. It also helps to set up accounts, vehicles and even trading strategies.

‘It’s quite an exciting field, particularly for us, not just from sort of a long-only exposure, but also from trading exposure,’ he says. ‘There are very exciting opportunities, and we’re certainly active in all of these areas.’
