A defamation and privacy specialist with over 15 years’ experience, Adele Ashton joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2017. Her current practice involves advising both claimants and defendants on matters of defamation, privacy, breach of confidence, data protection and reputation management.

She says an effective defamation lawyer requires the analytical skills to monitor which decisions are in their client’s interests, ‘whether that is taking action or doing nothing’.
