David Gray joined Brummana as principal in 2019 and says it is a privilege to lead a school that ‘has played such an important part in Lebanese educational history’.

With pupils from more than 50 nationalities, the school was established in 1873 and is guided by its founders' Quaker values. The BHS motto is ‘I serve’ and staff aim to nurture self-reliance, cooperation, friendship, non-violence, honesty, simplicity and compassion. Although founded on traditional values, BHS keeps up with the times: a robotics lab is a recent addition to the campus.
