Professor David Gartry leads the Wimpole Eye Clinic, which offers laser eye surgery, cataracts removal and refractive lens exchange.

With over 30 years of experience, Gartry is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Old Street’s Moorfields Eye Hospital and a renowned expert in the field – he was the UK’s first surgeon to perform laser eye surgery.

Gartry founded the Wimpole Eye Clinic in 2015 to ‘create the foremost centre of excellence for eye treatments’. His practice is guided by strong academic credentials – he has published more than 50 academic works relating to optometry, while he has degrees in optometry from Glasgow Caledonian University and medicine from University College London.

Previously, Gartry was a president of the British Society for Refractive Surgery, while he is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. As a student, he won the Master’s Prize of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers.
