Derek Bardowell

Spear’s Review

As philanthropy adviser and CEO of Ten Years’ Time, Derek Bardowell believes in bridging the gap between philanthropists and the communities they wish to help. ‘We accompany philanthropists and their families into the hearts of communities, the minds of the world’s leading academics, and the halls of government to better understand social challenges, then find and fund solutions to them,’ he says.

Bardowell is also the author of No Win Race, an examination of racial biases and discrimination in the sports industry in the UK. The book was named both the Sunday Times and the Financial Times Sports Book of the Year.

He is a fellow of Said Business School at the University of Oxford and a knowledge equity fellow at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship.
